With a fiercer winter than most behind us, seeing mosquitoes, weeds and poison ivy isn't so bad either. Although there is year-round availability of most produce these days, I'm sentimental for the seasons. Buying a box of fresh blueberries in February just does not appeal to me. Read more →Saturday at sunset I took a drive across the river to Eckerts in Belleville, IL to pick up some "just picked." It was a beautiful evening and I forced myself to stay on task and not linger too long. We've had a good amount of rain so the fields of corn are lush and better yet the peach crop abundant.
